Thanks to his tremendous hard work and determination, Josh Rogers has been given the honour of Athlete of the Week. Rogers is eighteen, in grade twelve and is an up-and-coming BMX biker (also known as a stunt biker.) Rogers has been practicing two hours a day for a long time on being the best biker he can be, but this week he has been working even harder. Earlier this year Rogers got good enough to be sponsored. The biking company, Animal, from Hamilton, Ontario, discovered Rogers and decided to sponsor him. Thanks to his sponsorship, Rogers can get free bike repairs and enter competitions. As a result of all this he has been given the opportunity to enter the In-Flow Bike Competition in Dundas, Ontario next weekend. When asked about the up-coming competition, Rogers replied, “It is definitely going to be tough competition, but I’m hoping for a top five finish.”
Rogers is very excited about having this opportunity and with his new parts on his Haro F3 bike, he is hoping to do the best he can. Rogers has came a long way when you consider that he has only been biking BMX for about two years.
The winner of next weekend’s competition will receive $1000 dollars, so it is going to be a very tough task for all twenty-five competitors to win.
