On Wednesday, May 25th, Lynn Thomas took her grade 10 Careers class to Niagara College in Niagara-on-the-Lake and Welland for a tour. Natalie Cowan is a part of the class that went and said, “I may be only in grade 10 but it was nice to see my options for my post secondary education are good even in a short distance from home.” Niagara College is a well known institute with the two campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the Lake. It offers a variety of programs that range from 1 to 3 years to complete along with two 4-year programs at the Niagara-on-the Lake campus. The Careers class started their day by visiting the Niagara-on-the Lake campus along with several Turning Point students to see the different buildings amongst other things. Next they traveled to the Welland campus to experience what things this campus had to offer. Unfortunately for the students, this tour was shortened due to time restraints. After the shortened tour students ate and went back to Dunnville Secondary School. The trip was free and was very educating for all students involved.
