Junior boys have been trying out for the past two weeks in order to make this year's junior volleyball team at D.S.S. About 20 boys tried out and with 2 sets of cuts, this year's team was finalized on Friday, September 23. Rombough’s expectations for this year's team is dedication from the students, team work, and to win Zone! Jordan McKinnon, one of this year's junior volleyball players said, “I’m looking forward to this year's season. I have a good feeling about this team.”
“I love coaching and I love volleyball!” said Rombough, when she was asked why she decided to coach this year. During tryouts, boys practiced drills that included serving, bumping, setting, spiking, blocking, running, and a scrimmage. McKinnon said, "The drills were tough, but I feel they made us better as a team.”
The boys are excited to start their season off with a bang. Their first game is Tuesday, September 27 at Hagersville Secondary School.
