Concert Raises Funds For DSS Breakfast Program

By: Ben
The cafeteria at Dunnville Secondary School (DSS) was alive with local musicians on Thursday, October 6 in support of the school's breakfast program.  Local artists included In the Shadows, a band consisting of Rikki Lynn Hoffman-Stinson, EJ Hoffman-Stinson, and Caleb Smith, all students of DSS.  The night featured piano virtuoso, Connor Dockrill, a graduate of DSS.  Dockrill was accompanied by his sister, Laura Dockrill; father, Kevin Dockrill; and Carl Slick.
The concert was a fundraiser for the breakfast program that takes place at DSS.  Every morning, a variety of healthy breakfast foods are supplied by the school for all students to take at no cost to them.  Funding is needed to allow the program to maintain its variety and high standard.
This concert was the first of a monthly coffee house that will continue to take place throughout the year.  Aside from raising funds for the breakfast program, this allows students and local artists to have a place to showcase their talents.  "I always enjoy coming back to play at the school," said Dockrill.  Rikki Lynn Hoffman-Stinson, bassist and singer of In the Shadows, also helped to set up the night.  She thanks all of the musicians for their support and making the night such a great success.
