The Dunnville Secondary School's (DSS) Senior Boys Volleyball team played hard at the Simcoe Composite School tournament on October 12th. They beat Hagersville Secondary School's Boys team in their first game, but lost to Holy Trinity's and Simcoe Composite's Senior Boys Volleyball teams. They were also beaten by Pauline Johnson’s Senior boys team in a tiebreaker in the quarterfinals.
The DSS Senior Boys ranked third in their pool at the Simcoe tournament. After winning their first game against Hagersville, they played Holy Trinity who beat them in two sets; but the boys tried hard and kept the scores close. They then played the Simcoe team and lost, but not by much. The Dunnville team made a great comeback and went from 20-5 to a final score of 25-18 in the second set. After losing to Simcoe, the Senior boys were matched against Pauline Johnson for the quarter finals. It was a tight game. After losing the first set, they came back and won the second set. In the last set to fifteen, the boys lost 15- 10, and were therefore out of the tournament. Regardless, the boys are confident about their coming season and they know what to improve on.
