Huge Win in Junior Boys Volleyball!

By: Jake
It was a day of sweet revenge for the Dunnville Secondary School (DSS) Junior Boys Volleyball team last Thursday October 20th, as they etched a big win on the Hagersville Hurricanes. This was a huge confidence builder for the DSS boys, seeing as they had lost to the Hurricanes previously in the season and were seeking payback. With winning three straight sets, the Hurricanes were packing their bags almost as soon as they were unpacking them. The team's coaches are Mrs. Rombough and Mr. McCormack. “The game was won through a solid team effort,” said Coach McCormack.  Keys to the game were Zack Seager's hard spike, Jordan Phibbs' consistent serving and great sets by Aaron Krajcir, Josh Meeuwse and Brandon Dear. With a two wins-two losses record now, the win was clearly a need to have. The team is trying to finish as high as possible to have good standings in the playoffs. This is quite important because higher placing teams play lower placing teams in playoffs, which makes it a lot easier to qualify for SOSSA. When asked to describe his team, Coach McCormack replied, "The boys have improved a lot from beginning to now; they’re coming together as a team and have developed team cohesiveness which is super important in the game of volleyball.” Coming off this win, the team can only look up for the future of the season.
