Jump, Throw, Basket

Dunnville Secondary School (DSS) has been blessed with a number of highly talented athletic students. One student in particular who has demonstrated exceptional athleticism is Merrilee Minor. She is currently in grade 12b and has participated in extracurricular sports at DSS since her enrolment in grade nine.

Minor’s sport of choice is basketball. She is a very dedicated member of the Dunnville Panthers Senior Girls Basketball Team. Minor spends about 5 hours every week in team related activities. The basketball team usually has two practices and one game per week. Minor enjoys these hours of basketball and remains encouraging towards her fellow team members through win or loss.

“I enjoy playing basketball because of the competitive aspect; to work hard in practice and see the team come together in a game is rewarding,” said Minor.

Despite never having been to a SOSSA or OFSSA tournament, Minor says that she has high expectations for this year. The next athletics event that will be featuring Merrilee Minor is a Senior Girls Basketball game that is scheduled for October 20th at Hagersville Secondary School.
