Lady Panthers Face Tough Competition

The Dunnville Secondary School's (DSS) Senior Girls' Basketball team headed to Caledonia to play a game against McKinnon Park. The game took place on Thursday, October 13 at McKinnon Park Secondary School(MPSS). Both teams played great, but unfortunately a win just wasn't in the cards for the DSS team, and McKinnon left with a win.
After a very tough first half, the score was extremely close at 18-15 for MPSS; however, McKinnon managed to expand their lead to end the game with a score of 47-17.
The score of the game does not do justice to just how well the Lady Panthers actually played. Paige Williams, a member of the DSS team said, "The game was very intense because we had to step up our game. They were the most competitive team yet." Despite playing a good game, the team definitely still has some aspects that they need to improve on. Coach of the DSS team Andrew Preston mentioned that the team played a great defence, better than he had thought at the beginning of the season, but that the offense still needs work.  He said, "If we're going to compete with
Caledonia, we're going to have to improve considerably at breaking their press, and be much more efficient on offense."
Although the Lady Panthers still have some work to do on in order to improve the team, especially their offense, they are encouraged by the fact that they played well as a team, and the knowledge that their game will only improve with practice.
