Teacher of the Week

Dixon Dorland, the Department Head of Science at Dunnville Secondary School (DSS), is behind the scenes; he is involved in helping the school out in more than one way, which is why he is the Teacher of the Week.

Every week Dorland helps run the can and bottle recycling that Dunnville Secondary School does. "I've done this for so long I can't remember how long it's actually been," said Dorland. An announcement comes on over the speakers, students take down their class' recycling bins where Dorland makes sure every item is being put in the proper bin, and that items that are not recyclable are not put into the bins.

Dorland is also a help to DSS in another way. He is a representative on the Health and Safety Committee for Dunnville Secondary School. Every month or so, Dorland may be seen in a classroom with a couple people that may not have been seen around the school before, ensuring that the school is safe, and hazard free. This is what Dorland helps out with.
