Fundraising Woes At DSS

The one and only fundraiser at Dunnville Secondary School came to a close as students handed in their last minute orders on Friday, October 28th. Dunnville Secondary School’s annual Magazine Campaign has always been a past success. Students sell subscriptions for a variety of magazines in order to raise money for school activities. Although the selling rate has always been comfortably high in the past and the fundraising goal has always been successfully met, this year seems like it will be a little bit tight. The enthusiasm generated by the selling of the magazines and the earning of prizes has not been as high this year. So far, the number of subscriptions sold does not, unfortunately, begin to cover the costs of regular student activities. "Any teams or clubs are dependant on this fundraiser," stated Greg Carruthers, Principal of Dunnville Secondary School. Currently, this year’s activities are being supported and paid for by the money made from this fundraiser last year. The final numbers have not yet been counted, so there is still hope that a good part of the fundraising goal will be met.
