The Future Is Near

It’s that time of year again.
Students in grades 11, 12 and 12b are choosing their pathways to success. Though it is only October, the time is near when students planning on attending post secondary education next year, must make a decision. Students are open to apply to college or university beginning on December 16th. Choosing a college or university is, for some students, one of the most challenging decisions they have ever made. This is why, on October 25th, students in grades 11 and above were offered a chance to speak directly with representatives from over a dozen universities in
Ontario. Each university sent a former student to Cayuga Secondary School where students from all the area high schools met for this event. Each university representative had his/her own table so students were able to gather information and have an informative conversation.
"I think the students got a lot out of it," said Donna McMahon, guidance counsellor at
Dunnville Secondary School and leader of this excursion. Students left satisfied and inspired armed with books, ideas and new opportunities.
