Lady Panthers Swipe a Win

After narrowly defeating the Hagersville Hurricanes in their last match, the Dunnville Secondary Senior Panthers took to the Basketball court in dominant fashion against the Cayuga Warriors.  In front of their home crowd, the Panthers stormed out of the gate with high expectation and determination, and prevailed over their shorthanded counterparts, 48-37.

The Dunnville Panthers earned their revenge against the worthy competitors, the Hurricanes, after suffering a devastating loss in their last meeting at Cayuga Secondary School (C.S.S.). On Thursday afternoon the Warriors put out an excellent start despite their dwindled line-up; however, it was quickly stymied by the Panthers mid way through the opening quarter.  Despite a fourth quarter rally, the Warriors fell short of victory, providing the Panthers with a win. “The team excels in the defensive aspect of the game,” said D.S.S. teacher and senior girls’ Coach Andrew Preston. “The players have definitely come together as a team; it is very encouraging.”
