This week at Dunnville Secondary School, (DSS), was Halloween week, and there were plenty of activities for the students to enjoy. Wednesday, October 26 was the annual Door Decorating Contest. The students brought Halloween themed decorations from home and got one full period to decorate their homeroom door.
In third place was Mr. Dorland’s science class, with a pumpkin-headed man, (using a balloon), and it included a black cat, (also using a balloon), among other things. In second place was Mr. Ens’ French class, with a papier-mâché face consisting of eyes, hands and a mouth, along with other Halloween themed things. In first place was Mrs. Woods’ art class, with a Charlie Brown Halloween theme that included Charlie Brown, Snoopy, his yellow bird friend, and more.
“You could really tell it’s from an art class,” said Jen Pogson, a grade 12 student at DSS.
Other activities that happened this week were the annual Pumpkin Carving Contest on Friday, October 28, and Halloween cupcakes for sale for 50 cents each on Thursday, October 27.
