Walking in Your Parent’s Shoes

By CarlyWhat do you want to be when you grow up? Last Wednesday, November 2, all of the grade nines at Dunnville Secondary School got to take the day off from school to go to one of their parent's place of work. They did this to get a glance of what it is like to work, and to see if, perhaps, their parent’s job interests them. Darien Powell said, “I went to my mom’s work in Vineland and I got to work with six special needs children; I learned a lot like how to treat them and about the extra care that they need. It was actually really fun because I got to see how they act and play together which was cute.” Most of the grade nines found this helpful and they enjoyed seeing what it was like at their parent’s jobs and thought it was a great opportunity for them. Walking a day in their parent’s shoes was a great way for them to experience what the working world is like.
