Putting The Jingle In Christmas

The students of Dunnville Secondary School all showed their Christmas spirit in the week of December 12-17. They were all participants of a Christmas program called Jolly Jingle Bonanza. This program involves both students and teachers alike to bring in items such as toys, clothes, canned vegetables, mitts, scarves, etc. to gain points for their classroom. On each day, there are set items that give the classes that bring them in double and triple points. This program is to get items to donate to Salvation Army so that less fortunate families can have a good Christmas as well. “Dunnville has one of the lowest food per capita, and I think that this is a way that the community is trying to contribute to the solution,” said Mark Ens, a French and Philosophy teacher. “Although I would like to see it happen with healthier food, I am still glad that the community is contributing.” The class that earned the most points by the end of the program won free donuts. The winning class of the Jolly Jingle Bonanza was Ms. Priestman's grade nine class with 637 points, followed by Mrs. MacLeod's class with 604 points, and Mrs. Douglas' class with 411 points.
