As the weather begins to warm up and spring is approaching us, Dunnville Secondary School (DSS) has begun training for their soccer season. This year, DSS teacher, Mr. Drew Spence, has decided to run a co-ed soccer club for all students interested in playing .The club runs once a week, right after school. This is a great way to involve all students at DSS who have a love for this sport. Also the club is a great way for Spence to see prospective players for the boy’s varsity team, who will be starting their season at the end of March.
Spence, coach of the boy’s soccer team at DSS, has fairly high expectations for his team this season. As in previous years, DSS has had a young, successful team, but this year he is looking forward to coaching a more experienced squad. The previous years have provided DSS with a strong defensive team and this year he is looking for a stronger offensive team. “With discipline comes success,” is Spence’s coaching philosophy and with last year’s team motto of, “No remorse,” Spence knows this will be a great soccer season.
