Communication Technology has hit show?

Do you know the hit, Emmy award winning show “The Office”? If you enjoy that, you might enjoy “Communication Technology.”  Part of the film club that Dunnville Secondary School's (DSS) John Lyle started in the beginning of the school year, have been making their own take on “The Office,” but instead of having an office setting, it’s a classroom setting, with a assortment of different students, and a corky but funny teacher who is played by Lyle, the Communications teacher of DSS. Their latest episode, which was about the new semester, debuted on Wednesday, April 4th, in the school cafeteria during the lunch break. Lyle, who is in charge of the whole operation recalled, “ Back at the start of December, I needed something to promote the Communication Technology course for grade eight day, so the film club and I came up with the idea of making an episode like "The Office", but in the Communications room.” The whole team contained Mason Ha, Brad Parker, Hailey Parker, Mitchell Patterson, Ethan Reynolds, Kyle Roberts, Nathan Rozon, and Andie Shepherd, all as the students of the class, as well as  camera man Calen Siddall. The first episode wasn’t just shown on grade eight night; it was also shown in the cafeteria on December 8th. “After we had shown the school the episode, we had students and teachers coming up to us asking for more, so we decided to make more episodes,” Lyle recalled. The cast and crew made three more episodes, over the past four months, starting with a Christmas special, where Lyle is trying to make one of his students believe in Santa Claus, and was shown on December 23rd, during the Christmas assembly. During Exams, they made an exam special, where the students work on last minute assigned summatives. Now that the new installment has occurred, Lyle stated, “ We are planning to make at least three more episodes before the end of the school year, because we love making them, and we do have fans that want to see more, and want to see what happens next.”
