A Dunnville Secondary School (DSS) girls baseball team consisting of grades nine through twelve, played a tournament at Smithville District Christian High School , on Tuesday, May fifteenth. The team consisted of thirteen junior and senior girls. The girls played a total of four games. They lost their first game eight to five. They had a huge win at their second game twenty-three to two. Their third game was also won ten to one. Their last game was lost by two points. Panthers senior girl, Taelore Hanly said, “We played really well with only a few errors in our defense, but our offense was very strong. Everyone hit extremely well. It was fun playing with the junior girls too, for being at a younger level, they are quick to learn.” Another fellow senior teammate, Caitlin Ottaway stated her thoughts on the games, “I was impressed with the outcome of making it to the semi finals and making it a close game, especially seeing that almost half of our team are rookies. It was a beautiful day to play ball, and we all went out there and played hard!”
