Welcome home Chap.

Mitchell Patterson

If you know Alex Kelly, and was wondering where the heck was he for ten days, the answer is: he was in jolly good old England. Around the beginning of the school year, the Rotary Club
was looking for two talented students to send to England to represent their certain field of art such as
visual, dramatic, musical etc. Dunnville Secondary School's Alex Kelly was one of the two chosen to go to England and
represent the arts in Dunnville as a film director, and artist. “I was so happy and honored when I found
out that I was selected out of how many other applied students,” Kelly said in response to his feelings
towards the whole matter. Kelly officially left Canadian soil on Thursday, April 19th, and arrived in
England, ready to take a bite of this cake. Staying in St. Albans, Kelly and his group of British artists,
toured the college of Cambridge, the Camden Market, Borehamwood, and the Hertsford School, where he
got to witness how different school is over in England. Kelly also visited London, four times! He also
got to visit the Elstree studios, where Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Big Brother, and UK Voice are
filmed, and in Leavston, where Kelly got to see all the props, gags, and wonders at the Making of Harry
Potter. “I had such a wonderful time, met incredible people, visited interesting sites, and experienced a
culture that is very different, but yet so similar at the same time,” Kelly said, when he got back home on
Sunday, April 29th.
